Just so it'd be on this Gaara and Chloe DA, here is Gaara and Chloes story, told by surrealmom:


"I'm creating this entry to explain Gaara and Chloe. For every story written, picture created, and video edited. Most of those will probably be linked to this entry so people can stop being confused...or if you just have a lot of free time to read rambling.

Gaara and Chloe...hmm. I don't know how common it is, maybe not at all. Really, is it normal for anime freaks to start pairing up couples from DIFFERENT animes? Even beyond that, in any form of entertainment...movies, television, literature, do people ever think: Hey That character is the perfect match for that other character in that completely different story. WHAT? Well, that's what we thought. By we, I mean myself and Trentaholic (or Jenna, to some). It didn't happen over night.

The begining-

Gaara and Chloe were a very slow...whatever they are. About a year and a half ago, Trentaholic was big into Naruto, and I was going through my Noir thing. Her favorite character at the time was Gaara, and mine was Chloe. It was only natural that we started babbling about them. But with all that babbling about the characters, came a steady realization. Woah, these two have a lot in common! It's not perfectly obvious at first, however. Especially personality-wise.

The connection-

Gaara...corrupted (from childhood), betrayed by loved ones, homicidal, represents the main character's (Naruto's) darker path, essentially a loner.

Chloe...corrupted (from childhood), betrayed by loved ones, homicidal, represents the main character's (Kirika's) darker path, essentially a loner.

The only real difference between them is their personalities. Gaara is just plain bitter. Dark, pessimistic, tainted. Chloe, on the other hand, carries an air of innocence, somehow. She's managed to preserve a child-like quality and an almost unwavering sense of optimism about the world around her.

In some strange way, their opposite personalities are what make them so fitting for each other. Leading such common lives, there would be an understanding between them- and as we all know, opposites attract. Her smile is exactly what his frowny-ness needs.

The Stories-

Gaara and Chloe stories range from pages of my sappy writing, to late night rambles between my friend and I. We sort of think of it as just constantly writing this one huuuuge fanfiction that only we understand. A major aspect of this story-telling is through our favorite musicians, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, and Tori Amos. This may be getting a little bit too crazy for some, but it's fairly simple to connect the two characters to the two musicians if you just open your mind a bit.

Listen to a Nine Inch Nails song. Just do it. Any song. It's Gaara, you'll hear it. The raw (sometimes untouchable) anger is stronger than any other voice you'll find, and comes loud and clear as being very Gaara-esque.

Tori Amos is a bit more difficult to understand as being Chloe-ish, but if you give it a moment (and are familiar with her music) you'd probably understand. Tori's music is haunting, yet comforting. Like an old friend with a sort of strange aura of innocence (and always with a smile), Tori's music will never let you slip away, and I mean that in every sense of the term. If you can't understand how this relates to Chloe, you clearly didn't watch Noir closely enough.

Through their music, we continued their stories. Even through pictures, fanfics and videos, there is almost always some form of Tori and Trent influence behind it. I could get into the whole Tori/Trent relationship (or *ahem* alleged relationship) but that's a completely different rant for another day (they're in love!) Oops.

To the unbelievers-

Maybe there are people who are completely offended by all of this. I hear ya. Gaara's meant to be alone. Gaara's too messed up to be involved in romance. Gaara's soulmate is Hinata. CHLOE IS A LESBIAN. This is all well and good, but when it comes down to it, these are stories. Stories meant for people to enjoy. My friend and I found that these two characters could have a lot of interesting stories together, even if we're the ones writing them. We do fanart and make videos and babble about them a lot because we honestly are inspired by the two of them in countless ways. This is just our little branch in a fictional universe, and we like it just fine."
